Independent Care Advocate (ICAA)

£25,481 p.a. pro rata NJC Scale 19

Part Time (22.5 hours per week) Permanent

Home-based with flexibility to cover Devon-wide remit

The Devon Advocacy Consortium is commissioned by Devon County Council to provide a high- quality instructed advocacy service across the Devon County Council area and Torbay.

 

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A good understanding of the principles of advocacy;
  • A proven understanding of the needs of disabled, deaf and older people; and
  • A good working knowledge of statutory and voluntary services
  • Full accredited ICAA training will be provided.

Government regulations came into force on 11 November 2021, requiring care home staff to refuse entry to anybody who cannot evidence that they have had two doses of a Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved COVID-19 vaccine, or that they come within a specified exemption. This applies to all Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated care homes providing nursing or personal care in England.

Applicants with a specified exemption will be considered on an equal footing with all others.

The successful applicant will be required to provide proof of double vaccination or a specified exemption.
