We are the Devon Advocacy Consortium, a partnership of four charitable advocacy organisations, brought together in 2014 and led by Living Options Devon (registered charity number 1102489).

Each organisation within the consortium has a specialist area, such as Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, children and young people. This means that we are able to allocate referrals to the most appropriate provider dependent on the person’s needs.

Partner organisations

We work together to provide the following free and independent advocacy services across Devon and Torbay:

• Independent Health Complaints Advocacy 
• Independent Care Act Advocacy
• Independent Mental Health Advocacy
• Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy

Our aim is to support people to have their voice heard and their rights upheld. We help people to engage in health and social care issues that affect them, be involved with decisions being made about them and be aware of choices available to them. Our advocates are all trained to the appropriate level (dependent on the type of advocacy they provide) and are skilled at working with people with complex needs including difficulties in communication and non-verbal clients.
