National Learning Disabilities and Autism awards 2024 finalists

It was a privilege to be recognised for our part in the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training at a national level. To be finalists at the prestigious awards and congratulated for the work we are doing towards Oliver’s Campaign is a testament to the hard work and commitment we have towards this training.
Sending our congratulations to award winners Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB for the Oliver McGowan Training Award – and everyone else working to support and advocate for people with learning disabilities.
About Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism
Aiming to save lives by ensuring the health and social care workforce have the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability.
The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that regulated service providers must ensure their staff receive learning disability and autism training appropriate to their role.
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the standardised training that was developed for this purpose. It is the government’s preferred and recommended training for health and social care staff.
At Living Options Devon we have worked alongside One Devon to roll out the training to NHS staff in Exeter, Torbay and Plymouth. We are contracted by NHS Devon to provide the recruitment, management and pastoral care for all the Experts by Experience and Facilitators/Trainers.
